The 2020 BK5K has been cancelled due to restrictions from Covid-19. See you in 2021
We had a strong showing for the 20th HC5K!!! We had record numbers of participants and $$ donated to help us in our mission of creating hope for others fighting cancer.
A thank you to all of our sponsors this year who truly allow us to give back almost every $ that is turned in to the cause.
Tom Butler/Boar’s Head Provisions, Brucelli Advertising, Bold Gold Media, Adams Marketing, C&C Equipment Rental, Pocono Pro Foods, SYSCO Foodservice, Fast Finishes, Pepsi, NEW! – Wallenpaupack Brewing Company & NEW! – Black & Brass.
A special thank you goes to the 20+ volunteers who have been at the core consistently every year of making the event go smoothly. You are the best!!!
One of the highlights of the day & what keeps “bringing them back” is our Woodloch Cookies!! All of the promotion, food, service, coordination & spirit provided by the entire Woodloch Team truly shines through and is a big part of making our events special.
The 5K is an event that allows all ages & levels to participate. We had competitive runners; lots of kids; strollers; dogs; 80+ys olds & more! All of us come together to enjoy the day while understanding
clearly, the underlying reason…
The 5K’s proceeds go directly to The Penn State Cancer Institute located in Hershey, PA. We are currently funding ground-breaking research being conducted by Dr. Zheng. My mother and I have visited several timed witnessing her team in action & have heard the excitement of the progress that is being made on all levels and with all types of cancer. Although there are strides being made, the reality is people are still being diagnosed & suffering. OUR job is not done! We will remain committed to helping create hope.
Thank you to all who participated and/or donated your time, $ or talents to the 5K!!!!
Please join us again!
About the BK5K
One of our most popular events is the Hope Cures 5K RUN/WALK! The 5K start/finish is located at The Inn at Woodloch. The course winds through Woodloch Resort’s property and along a private lake. The local community is invited to join in the event! All ages and levels can participate with awards for each division and something special for all kids 10 & under! Many run in memory of, or in support of someone who is/was impacted by cancer. It is a fun/healthy event that has a deeper meaning for many who join us…..
The entry price entitles participants to a gift, water, Gatorade, chip timing system (thanks to Fast Finishes!), prizes and an outdoor luncheon after the 5K. The outdoor luncheon after the race is a favorite! Plenty of good healthy food while eating outdoors (except for the cookies!), comparing times with others or just enjoying the outdoors with friends and family!
The HC5K’s proceeds benefit the Penn State Cancer Institute.
Take a look back at our 2019 event and set your goals. Can you beat your time in 2020?
